The Atrox used to be the terror of the Dakotan forests, but recently he vowed to reform and renounced his people-eating ways. He has tried to integrate himself in the human world by taking tips from his friend Bigfoot and acquiring a human roommate, Tad. Atrox is very well-meaning, but is not above the occasional relapse.
BIGFOOT
The Bigfoot of legend, and Atrox’s best friend. Bigfoot long ago adopted human culture, and has been Atrox’s primary guide to the modern world. Bigfoot is mostly into indie bands and experimental films. Y’know, stuff that’s not popular and therefore cool.
TAD
Tad’s hipster human roommate, recently turned into a monster thanks to a horrible curse. Tad’s new monster body keeps him constantly hungry for babies. It also has lady parts. Tad’s adjusting.
DIANE
Diane is some sort of squid-monster thing, with tentacles. She is particularly wary of prejudices against monsters, because of her bad experiences at Vassar. She is currently dating Bigfoot.
CORPORAL BIRD
Corporal Bird is a Corporal in the bird army. He is good friends with Atrox, despite focusing much of his attention on the birds’ war against the squirrels.
NESS
The legendary Loch Ness Monster, and a good friend to Atrox. Slow-moving and slow-speaking on land, Ness is something of a celebrity underwater. He keeps the oceans safe from unsavory elements, such as mad scientists who happen to be sharks.
ERIK GRIMTOOTHSON
A proud Bunnim warrior, Erik once vowed revenge on Atrox after Atrox ate Erik’s father in a fit of pique. They’ve since worked it out. Erik enjoys bloodletting and t-shirts with funny slogans on them.
GORFLAX
Gorflax is one of Atrox’s forest neighbors and a member of his monster support group. Gorflax is allegedly working on not terrorizing or eating children, but his success is debatable. He once sold Tad a cursed skull at a yard sale.
SUGAR
Sugar is an ancient, cursed skull who now resides in Atrox’s cave. Tad got turned into a lady monster when he touched Sugar with his bare hands. Sugar’s hobbies include heavy drinking, pranks, verbal abuse, stereotyping, and nurturing shady underworld connections.
